Clamped together much like printing was done in the early days. These are metal stamp mounted on wooden blocks very rare now.

Maxlight Stamps

The maxlight stamp is part of the new generation of stamps coming through. Unlike traditional rubber stamps they don't require a rubber or polymer die. They achieve the same thing by using a membrane which has an image scored on to it by using heat and pressure, the resulting weakness in the membrane allows ink through the membrane.
