Sublimation - What are the on about

Sublimation contrary to what it sounds like is not something that takes place behind closed doors, and in darkened sound proofed rooms. So what is it? The process of putting and image/logo or photo on a product. In our case we can put it on a mouse mat, mug, jigsaw puzzle, keyring or a coaster. All you need do is upload your design with any text you want adding and we do the rest. Well that was easy, and all from such a word as sublimation. http://www.customstampsonline.com/category/999102/customised-gifts/

False Identity Crime: Overview

The manufacture and subsequent use of false identities pave the way for a wide range of organised crime, including:
  • Identity theft;
  • Human smuggling and trafficking;
  • Economic fraud;
  • Illegal immigration
  • Terrorism and other national security threats;

Criminal and terrorist organizations pay top money for quality counterfeits, which they commonly use to facilitate their illicit activities. For example, reports indicate that the al Qaeda terrorist organization and 9/11 hijackers made use of fraudulent passports, visas, and entry and exit rubber stamps in their international travels.

The Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) is committed to making London a safer place for everyone. We will do this by working with partners to reduce identity crime and disrupt the criminal networks manufacturing false identities. Metropolitan Police (SCD6) has identified a growing trend where illegal document factories
are acquiring professional quality printing equipment and supplies to supplies to support their criminal activies, allowing them to produce high quality counterfeits of official documents and identifications.

The following are examples of the types of items in demand:-

  •  Plastic identification card printers
  •  Hot foil printers;
  •  Embossers
  •  Ultraviolet and other specialist inks,
  •  Specialist paper and card; and the consumables for all of these.

    Absolutely

  • Absolutely NO chemicals! That's right .... no chemicals are used to finish any of the products that use the LEMprocess.

  • Absolutely NO odors! That's right .... you can say goodbye to customer complaints about offensive odors! No charcoal filters needed or burnt rubber ash emitted into the atmosphere.

  • Absolutely NO effluent! That's right .... absolutely nothing goes down the drain in the LEMprocess!

  • Absolutely NO need for replacement pads! That's right .... the LEM process completely eliminates the need to buy expensive replacement ink pads.

Spring In Action 11 - Chicago may 13 2011

In the neverending search to bring new products to our customers, we visited "Spring into Action 11" hosted by our American partner Craig Peterson in Chicago. We were the only UK represenative. Craig as always presented several new products and new incarnations of products as only he can, (I include a link to one of his you tube videos). Although much that was presented was of great interest, what caught our eye was the PSI 3X Stamper which has 3 text plates in 1, we hope to bring this and other new lines to the UK Shortly.

New Rubber Stamp technology could stamp out bacteria in wounds

Using an advanced form of a rubber stamp, researchers have developed a way to adhere an very thin antibacterial coating to a wound.
Using Silver as the active ingredient. Silver has been used to prevent and treat infections for years. The down side is that silver can kill skin cells, the next step is to deliver levels of silver to wound that are nontoxic but still delivery the anti bacterial properties.

A recent paper published in the journal Advanced Functional Materials, by researchers from the chemical and biological engineering department of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, describe a process for creating a see through very thin polymer coating carrying exact levels of  very fine silver nanoparticles.

The coating, thinner than a human hair, was added to a flexible piece of rubber and then using a rubber stamp, stamped onto a piece of test skin that was used in the experiment.Two types of bacteria often found in wounds were added to the skin. When the skin was tested 12 hours later neither were found to be present.

Wounds that will not heal are a major cause of pain and consern to patients. Millions of cases of burns are treated across the world each year, there are also many other wounds that also will not heal. The cost to medical profession and the larger economy could be immense. Now who would of thought a rubber stamp could ever do that!!!

How Do I Care For My Stamp

Rubber stamps come in all shapes and sizes. Most have some sort of a mounting system either wood, ABS, foam or thick foam with thin wood. Most rubber stamp images are permanently attached to the mount, some you can peel and stick back on, some have no mounts at all. The actual rubber stamp itself also comes in many forms, from traditional grey rubber (also available in red, blue, beige or black),

or pink polymer.

Whatever the type they all need care and attention, then they will last for years. Rubber Stamps are not designed to be thrown away after a couple uses, with a little wipe after use, or alot of wipes, you can keep the die clean and ready for use.

Cleaning Materials: soap/washing up liquid, baby wipes,  Ink Remover/Cleaner, hand cleaner, cotton buds, j cloth, old toothbrush.

-- Baby wipes work great on most water base inks and stamp surfaces, if you clean immediately. Although they will not remove ink from wood, only sanding will remove in this case.
